Commit data not retrieved when browsing third level or deeper

If you check https://gitlab.common-lisp.net/cmucl/cmucl/tree/master/tests/pcl, you'll see that the commit data isn't being retrieved. This applies through all directories in this repository at the third level or lower (/ = 1, /src =2 , /tests/pcl = 3).

That is, together with hayes we determined through IRC that the request for the commit data is being sent out and is acknowledged with a 200-Ok, but the actual response comes up empty.
