• Separate variables library from component library, in order to:
  • have a separate release cycle
  • improve file performance
  • follow industry guidance
• Have a single toggle for light and dark mode in design files, in order to:
  • simplify the designer experience
  • easier troubleshooting
  • less likely to encounter mis-matched modes
• Only expose variables designers need to use directly in Figma files, in order to:
  • simplify the designer experience
  • limit token overwhelm
  • less likely to have tokens used outside their intended context
