Migrate charts/gitlab to gitlab-org/charts/gitlab
In an effort to consolidate projects in the gitlab-org
group, we need to move existing charts/gitlab
projects to gitlab-org/charts/gitlab
. This issue will serve as a central location to understand and record dependencies.
Status update
Project | Contain images? | Will be migrated? | Reason (if any) | Notes | Migrated yet? |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
gitlab-runner | No | Yes | Yes | ||
deploy-image-helm-base | Yes | Yes | Because images aren't created by CI, yet. I have them "preserved" in my local machine and https://gitlab.com/balasankarc/deploy-image-helm-base/container_registry (I don't know if the latter will be deleted when I delete the original images). | Yes | |
GitLab | Yes | Yes | * There is a docker image in the registry. AFAIU we don't use it anymore in any of the currently active versions (latest and three backports). Still, I have a copy in my local machine and in https://gitlab.com/balasankarc/gitlab/container_registry. Also, we need to tackle the label situation mentioned in #422 (comment 209959626). | Yes | |
gitlab-operator | Yes | Yes, but will not be moved. | Already public URL that users use, like CNG. | We will have a import of the project in gitlab-org/charts and that will be the canonical source. The existing images will remain available at the old locations, but we will not be doing ongoing development there. |
Yes |
charts.gitlab.io | No | No | Already public URL that users use. | Will not be doing anything with it right now. Opened #485 for discussing | |
gitlab-marketplace-app | No | No | Deprecated now that we incorporated all the changes from the fork to upstream | ||
deploy-image | No | No | Deprecated in favor of deploy-image-helm-base
|
||
kubernetes-gitlab-demo | No | No | Deprecated in favor of gitlab-omnibus
|
||
gitlab-omnibus | No | No | Deprecated in favor of current CNG charts | ||
alpine-helm | Yes | No | Images in the registry are used by CI of charts.gitlab.io (and some deprecated charts). Let's move this image to https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-build-images and update active images to use it. |
