# Overview Help recognize GitLab team members for helping with open source contributing and the community! Members of the [Contributor Success team](https://handbook.gitlab.com/handbook/marketing/developer-relations/contributor-success/#team-members) are not eligible for this award. 1. This issue collects all community-nominated Community Champion nominations from the wider community and the Contributor Success team for GitLab's [FY27-Q1](https://handbook.gitlab.com/handbook/finance/#fiscal-year) which runs through March 2026. 2. After each quarter, the Contributor Success team selects from the eligible nominees based on their community impact, nomination comments and emoji votes. 3. The Community Champion is recognized with: * Write up post in internal #thanks channel. * GitLab rewards store credits. ## Nominate a GitLab team members To add a new nominee, make a comment in this issue with the team member's name, GitLab profile, and some details of their contributions to the community. Include their user handle as a header to make finding the thread easier. * Wider community members can add nominations. * Contributor success team members can add nominations. ## Support a nominee 1. Add a comment in the thread for the nominee with any supportive statements about how they helped you or other community members contribute. 2.
