Linked issue is not reflected on the contributors platform if it is added after the MR has been created

During the current hackathon, I noticed something interesting. I raised two MRs where I added the linked issue after the MR was created, instead of at the time of creation. I observed that when you link an issue afterwards, it doesn’t update in your MR stats on your profile — it still appears as an unlinked MR.
