Storage usage notification email
Feature Proposal
Problem to solve
We were in the process to implement namespace storage limit which would come with the useful excess storage notification that would notify the customer of storage usage.
- In the command-line interface, a notification displays after each git push action when your namespace has reached between 95% and 100% of your namespace storage quota.
- In the GitLab UI, a notification displays when your namespace has reached between 75% and 100% of your namespace storage quota.
- GitLab sends an email to members with the Owner role to notify them when namespace storage usage is at 70%, 85%, 95%, and 100%.
While we don't have the exact timeline for rolling out the namespace storage limit, without the notification a lot of customers are not notified when storage is about to hit the limit. They would only alert that they hit the limit when their work is blocked.
It would be helpful if we can implement the storage usage notification so that our customers can prepare to unblock themselves before hitting the limit.
