Use ActiveScaffold as Admin framework
Here is a proposal to move our admin area to be based on ActiveScaffold. I think this is better in the long term compare to RailsAdmin. The benefits are:
- It's an extension to ActionController and is RESTful
- It works with Rails convention on building custom action and routing.
- Views/partials/helpers can be utilized
- We won't have to write POST and GET logic in the same code block
- It scaffolds well for simple CRUD admin interface, saving development time
- For high customization needs, we can just create an normal Rails controller, which can work well along with other ActiveScaffold code.
- It works with Rails convention on building custom action and routing.
- It is not tied to a model. This is beneficial since we work with Zuora objects a lot.
- It is still maintained
The official doc has a more comprehensive list of use cases. And here is a getting started guide.
