[Support Tool] Trials for SM limiting fields

Problem

The trials for SM form is used for the emergency license generation which should have 10 days by default. At the moment the form includes:

  • Email
  • Users count
  • Plan code
  • Starts at
  • Expires at
  • Notes

Which give the impression that we should consider the start and end date. This would also create confusion for the customer as the delivered license name is 10-day Trial GitLab License.

The plan should be Ultimate by default as the license should only be served as a short term solution to unblock the customer during the weekend.

Proposal

Limit the fields to:

  • Email
  • Users count
  • Notes

The default values of

  • Plan code: Ultimate
  • Starts at: current date - 2
  • Expires at: current date + 10

Result

Support Engineer on call can generate emergency license to unblock the customer during the weekend without too many blockers.
