Create Deep Dives

Introduction

Over the last few weeks, the Manage group has organized multiple 201 knowledge sharing sessions on various engineering topics, like SAML, Import/Export and "From Legacy to Vue.js"; see https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/manage/issues/9 for more information, including recordings and slides for past sessions and the schedule for upcoming ones.

Thanks to @lmcandrew, all the relevant information on the format can now also be found in the handbook under Knowledge Sharing > Deep Dive sessions. (The format was renamed to be more consistent with terms already used by other teams)

Further down on that page, you can also find a list of recommendations for those organizing them in the future, courtesy of @jamedjo.

Create Deep Dives

I think this was a great initiative by @lmcandrew and the rest of the Manage team, and I believe we should start doing these in Create as well to further share our domain specific knowledge with the rest of the group and those beyond.

If you have a topic in mind that you would like to learn more about, please suggest it in a comment below.

If you would like to host a Deep Dive session on a particular topic yourself, please add it to table below!

Feel free to leave the Date column "TBD" for the moment, or to pick a date a few months away. There is no deadline, there will always be more knowledge to share, and I think each session will have a bigger impact if we have one or two per month for the foreseeable future, rather than two per week for a month :)

Once you do pick a date, please add it to the GitLab Team Meetings calendar and publicize it as described in the handbook.
