Automating/Creating registry version compatibility e2e testing suites

Follow up from conversation in #1020 (comment 1397058342)

Context

While aligning on a part forward in #1020 (closed) (specifically #1020 (comment 1397058342)). The idea to create and automate version compatibility testing across the registry came up with the goal to identify when a registry version was incompatible older/newer dependencies (e.g newer or older database migrations). This issue is a place holder to revisit the conversation.
