Increase error handling around glab auth with http vs https
### Checklist
<!-- Please test the latest versions, that will remove the possibility that you see a bug that is fixed in a newer version. -->
- [x] I'm using the latest version of the extension (Run `glab --version`)
- Extension version: `Current glab version: 1.51.0`
- Also tested with the latest (`c954d6b7`) development version.
- [x] Operating system and version: `Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS`
- [x] Gitlab.com or self-managed instance? `self-managed instance`
- [x] GitLab version (if self-managed) `{"version":"16.5.0-jh","revision":"a7d4875b04c","kas":{"enabled":true,"externalUrl":"wss://gitlab.corp.metabit-trading.com/-/kubernetes-agent/","version":"v16.5.0"},"enterprise":true}`
- [x] I have performed `glab auth status` to check for authentication issues
- [x] Run the command in debug mode (like `DEBUG=true glab mr list`) and attach any useful output
### Summary
`glab stack sync` failed while creating MR in a self-managed GitLab `16.5.0-jh` instance.
Tested with `glab` Release 1.51.0 as well as current development version (`v1.51.0-28-gc954d6b7`).
Both `glab` version works well with `gitlab.com` so I guess there's some issue with GitLab `16.5.0-jh`.
After brief debugging with `fmt.Printf` (I don't write Go so this is the only method of debugging I could do), it seems that GitLab `16.5.0-jh` returns a `200 OK` with body `[]` for request `POST http://our-gitlab.com/api/v4/projects/my-repo/merge_requests`.
And the response body `[]` causes [`json.NewDecoder(resp.Body).Decode(v)`](https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/api/client-go/-/blob/616e996bc20f87779daa1803f8df10ae2901768e/gitlab.go#L913) to fail.
Not sure if here is the best place to create issue so please correct me if I'm wrong.
### Environment
```
- OS: Linux 6.8.0-35-generic x86_64
- SHELL: /bin/bash
- TERM: xterm-256color
- GLAB: Current glab version: 1.51.0
```

or other customizations like editing the prompt (PS1, PS2, and others).

### Steps to reproduce
<!-- How one can reproduce the issue - this is very important -->
Clone a repo from a `16.5.0-jh` GitLab.

### What is the current _bug_ behavior?
<!-- What actually happens -->
`glab stack sync` fails with output `could not run sync: error updating stack ref files: error creating merge request with the API: json: cannot unmarshal array into Go value of type map[string]interface {}`.
### What is the expected _correct_ behavior?
<!-- What you should see instead -->
`glab stack sync` finish without error.
