https://gitlab.com/gitlab-com/gl-infra/infrastructure/issues/7703 tracks creating a registry image mirror, there is one located at https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/container-registry. https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/issues/32907#note_226332281 noted that although we have a mechanism for patching registry delivered with omnibus we do not have a way to patch it using the `k8s-workloads` way of deploying to the kubernetes clusters. This issue is to document our strategy for patches that have not yet been incorporated upstream.
