Problems due to example.local domain
This is a report I received by email shortly after my request was merged last week. It's from a Lets Encrypt engineer who reports:
I'm seeing some accounts being created with the email address "[email protected]". I found one example of this as a suggestion in your post at https://gitlab.com/charts/gitlab/blob/master/doc/installation/deployment.md. Would you mind updating that to "[email protected]"? example.com is an officially reserved name for documentation: https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2606. That way we can properly generate an error that will tell the user they should provide a proper email address.
Right now, we have some misconfigured users that are spamming us with lots of traffic but we can't reach them due to invalid email addresses.
Would you be open to a MR to change all "example.local" domains to "example.com" in both the documentation and in examples?
