@williamchia started a discussion: (+4 comments) @parker_ennis take a look at the 2017 CI Wave and the 2019 Cloud-native CI Wave from Forrester. It's possible there is some CI-specific market (e.g. TAM, adoption %, etc.) info that would appropriate to share here.
Here's a Markets and Markets report that might be worth citing: https://www.marketsandmarkets.com/Market-Reports/continuous-integration-tools-market-154327001.html
This might also be a good place to link to the 2019 DORA State of DevOps report with something like, "DORA has identifies 4 key metrics that indicate business success. 3 of these 4 metrics are furthered by strong CI practices, namely:
- Deployment frequency: Automated build and test is a pre-requisite to automated deploy.
- Time to restore service: Automated pipelines enable fixes to be deployed to production faster reducing Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR)
- Change failure rate: Early automated testing greatly reduced the number of defects that make their way out to production.
