Should we include Google Drive links in handbook
Issue to discuss if we should include Google Drive links in the handbook.
Continuation of this slack discussion: https://gitlab.slack.com/archives/C81PT2ALD/p1513267444000721.
Pros
I always have a hard time remembering where the FGU recordings are. It's nice that on the page it says the "GitLab Videos" folder, but would be so much simpler if there was a link as Google Drive folders can be hard to discover on their own.
As you'll see from the "pro" examples below, I believe there is already more sensitive documents linked from the handbook. Thus I think it warrants a discussion.
Examples
- The Stock Options page links to the internal document for GitLabbers about outstanding shares: https://about.gitlab.com/handbook/stock-options/#about-your-ownership-in-gitlab.
- The finance page links to lots of internal only documents (invoices, W9, etc.): https://about.gitlab.com/handbook/finance/.
Cons
Even though our GSuite is protected by default, the slippage of links is a security risk. In addition, people may change the sharing settings on a document without realizing what additional exposure that brings.
