Blog post: How to start an open source program office in 10 minutes using GitLab
Proposal
The OSPO Alliance is a cross-organizational community of open source program offices dedicated to generating and sharing best practices for organizational use of open source software. As part of its work, the group maintains the Good Governance Initiative (GGI), an extensive handbook outlining these best practices.
The Alliance recently announced the latest version of the GGI handbook, which includes something altogether new: a locally deployable instance of the handbook, which includes tools organizations can use to get up and running with their own open source programs quickly and efficiently. It is built on and with GitLab.
GitLab's open source program manager (@bbehr) is working with representatives of the OSPO Alliance and authors of the GGI to raise awareness of this new tool. We're thinking a co-authored post to the GitLab blog explaining the tool, discussing its relevance and utility, and demosntrating how to deploy it, would be of interest.
