Document image source for blog posts
Our blog needs to be consistent. If we're referencing image sources in one post, the same must be valid to other posts. To make this happen, we need to document this on the Blog handbook, as a standard rule that applies commonly to all posts. And when reviewing posts, we need to request the source to be added at the end, with the same format.
The actual rule is referencing images within HTML comments:
Questions to be answered when documenting
- When should this be applied? (Always? For all images except the ones from Unsplash?)
- Which kind of images can be used?
- Which CC licenses are accepted?
- Which format should the note be present with?
How it currently looks
Currently, we see this in some posts:
How it should look
If we're going for this, I suggest we add it as a note at the bottom of the post (last line):
To do this, we only need to apply a custom class note
to the paragraph which holds the line:
Cover image [XXX][link] by [YYY][link] available under [CC BY 2.0][link].
{: .note}
