Address transient bugs and improve performance and quality tooling => 80%
There are cases in the product where the behavior can be transient. You can mouse over something and sometimes the popup displays correct information, sometimes it doesn't. You can apply a suggestion, but then the page doesn't show the suggestion as applied.
Here's an example: gitlab-org/gitlab#268144 (closed)
This OKR has the goal of attempting to identify transient problems, fixing some number of them, and determining proper prioritization for such issues.
Current task list
-
Informally start recording transient bugs and label them -
Come up with rough criteria for what is a transient bug and investigate if quality tooling can auto-identify them -
Fix transient bugs based on product prioritization
Current list of found transient bugs (2020-10-23)
Retrospective
Good
- Looking at roster and participation in working group we are split evenly based on gender. This wasn't intentional, but still is an interesting result.
Bad
- Transient bugs - we blew through our goals of 7 transient bugs and fixed 14. We weren't aspirational enough.
Try
- Transient bugs - Consider asking for a retro of this working group. Was it better/worse than others.
