iFrame blockage
What is/are the relevant URLs or emails?
One example: https://about.gitlab.com/handbook/sales/onboarding/sales-learning-path/
Briefly describe the bug
Content from within the GitLab handbook is unable to appear in an iFrame on an external site.
What are the steps to reproduce the bug
- Create an iFrame on a site outside of the Handbook, such as this example.
- From the iFrame on the external site, attempt to load content from the handbook.
- iFrames are not displaying the content.
Example code:
<html><body>
<iframe width="300" height="150" src="https://about.gitlab.com/handbook">
</iframe>
</body></html>
Context
A team of GitLab team members is evaluating Learning Management Systems / Learning Experience Platforms (LMS/LXPs). It is our strong desire (and a requirement from Sid) to take a Handbook-first approach such that static learning content is pulled into the LMS/LXP from the Handbook which is our SSOT. Per @kmarquart, the LXP uses iframes to link and display urls. Unfortunately, embedding an iframe in the LXP pulling from the Handbook results in a blank page (per Kendra, this is true for any page she has tested on the about.gilab.com/handbook site). The same approach, however, works just fine for docs.gitlab.com domains. Is there a security setting or rule that is blocking the connection? Is there a work-around?
