Highlight UX, UI polish, and UI text improvements in release posts
Problem
When talking about GitLab's pain points, users and customers usually mention UX and performance as the main ones. However, many times these points are brought up because users are using older versions or simply not aware of the improvements we've been making in these fronts. So it usually comes down to a perception problem. How can we improve that perception?
Proposal
The release posts can be a place to do that. Usually they emphasize feature additions and enhancements, and recently we started highlighting performance improvements.
In this quarter (FY22-Q1) we're focusing a lot on usability improvements that can help improve that perception, which is measured through the regular SUS surveys — see key result.
We also have an amazing KR from the Technical Writing team to Review and revise UI text on Project Settings pages and highlighting these improvements is also worth it.
Aligning with our work this quarter, we could start highlighting UX, UI polish, and UI text improvements in release posts through a prominent, dedicated section for them.
