What happens next?
Once the sheet is completed, EMEA Support Managers will determine whether any changes need to be made to people's plans in order to staff appropriately for the last several weeks of 2025 and the first week of 2026.
Will I be asked to work on a day I want to take off?
That's not very likely, but it is possible. For this reason, please don't make any firm commitments (such as purchasing a nonrefundable travel itinerary) until the management team sends out notice that the schedule is confirmed.
Family & Friends Days - FY26
Family & Friends days have already been programmed in to Workday for everyone. They are December 26, 29, 30, and 31.
Based on HB instructions, in countries where a Family & Friends day falls on a public holiday, team members are encouraged to utilize their public holiday on another day, keeping in mind that the public holiday accrual balance needs to be used within the same calendar year.
For example, if the Family & Friends day on 2025-12-26 is a public holiday in your country, create a new absence request in Workday for the public holiday on another day within the same calendar year, such as 2025-12-24, by selecting Type of Absence > Time Offs > Public Holiday, and add a note that you are using your public holiday on this day because 2025-12-26 is a public holiday in your location which falls on one of GitLab’s Family & Friends days.
