Background
As detailed in the related note for the issue Proposal to use GitLab issues as a means for support to request technical help from the development team a project has been commenced for the development section group named Dev
.
Timeline
I propose that consider rolling out this process globally from Tuesday the 30th of August onwards
Goals
The goals of this issue are to coordinate the rollout of this project to commence on the 30th of August, therefore prior to this we need to ensure the following:
- All engineering managers are on board and have reviewed the Dev Section GitLab Project, the corresponding ReadMe and are comfortable with proceeding with the start of the project on `2022-09-01
-
@adil.farrukh - Authentication and Authorization -
@mksionek - Workspace -
@nrosandich - Compliance -
@wortschi - Import -
@blabuschagne - Optimize -
@donaldcook - Project Management -
@kushalpandya - Project Planning -

-
All engineering managers have either allocated developers to subscribe to their corresponding issue template or are content to use the default approach of being CC'ed on issues whenever they are created. This is required to ensure that new issues are directed to the appropriate resource for triaging.
-
All engineering managers have informed their team members of the process change and have instructed that if a support engineer requests assistance via slack and it requires investigation or debugging that they are directed to the project to raise an issue.
-
Support DRI @jlyttle creates a handbook landing page and informs the relevant stakeholders in support of the project
-
Handbook -
Support updates via SIWR, Regional Meetings.
Feedback
This issue will also be used to provide feedback and iterate on the project to implement any improvements as we go along. So feel free to raise any concerns or suggestions here for the Dev Section GitLab Project
