Create a Support Manager specific Onboarding Issue Template
Creating this issue to begin a conversation on having a support manager specific onboarding issue template that can be assigned to new hires, transfers, promotions and also used as a refresher when needed.
Currently, new support engineering managers are asked to go through
- Generic onboarding issue from people ops
- Support engineer onboarding issue
- Becoming a GitLab Manager from people ops - Note: I learnt about this one from @rspainhower and am yet to create an issue with this template for myself.
It would be beneficial to have a new hire support manager go through their onboarding in the following order:
- Generic onboarding issue from people ops
- Support specific onboarding issue (this will contain manager relevant account, technical and process oriented tasks, some similar to the tasks in the current support engineer onboarding issue) - yet to be created
- Becoming a GitLab Manager issue from people ops
