HTTP Basic Access denied in Visual Studio Code for Gitlab Group Repo.
Let me start by saying that I have very little knowledge about git, other than what I have been reading the last few days. It may be me that is a total newbie. I use Visual Studio Code, and I would like to have some of my scripts onto a repository for versioning. So we are a couple of guys working on the scripts, and thus we created a group where we could share our projects (here on gitlab.com) I am using Windows 10, with git installed.
Problem: VS Code has git integration. I've created a local folder and initialised it. Next step is to clone the project to my computer, using git clone.
When I use git clone this is the error message:
$ git clone https://email@example.com/tikt-powershell/Office365Licensing.git $ remote: HTTP Basic: Access denied $ fatal: Authentication failed for 'https://firstname.lastname@example.org/tikt-powershell/Office365Licensing.git/'
Which Group/Project (with full path) is experiencing the issue? gitlab.com/tikt-powershell/Office365Licensing.git
Approximate date/time when the error occurred. Today, from 08.30 Central European Time to now (10.00 CET) and yesterday.
Describe what you were doing right before the issue occurred. I've reset all my git config and set it up again with standard. I have used what is described in the project (git commands) I've tried to authenticate with username/email and my password, and a access token (when I had 2FA enabled). 2FA is now disabled.
Hope you are able to help me.
Kind regards Harald
