Using a preceding EULA acceptance to govern subsequent renewals
As discussed briefly with @jhurewitz re: https://gitlab.my.salesforce.com/0066100000Cde15 if a EULA has previously been accepted by a customer, we can refer to that acceptance and the date of acceptance in a renewal quote as "the terms governing" for future renewals.
This would have the benefit of speeding up the sales cycle for us, the customer and the reseller in between.
To make this work quickly, we can use it ad hoc by editing .doc quotes and inserting the relevant wording and EULA details.
To automate it, we would need to:
- Check if a EULA has been accepted before for that Account;
- If no, then we require a EULA to be accepted;
- If yes, then pull the EULA Acceptance date and unique reference from our servers (https://customers.gitlab.com/admin/eula_request);
- Copy the text of EULA Request ID number and the Accepted At date into the Z-Quote;
- That text could then replace our standard text in our quotes under the section "Acceptance".
- "By accepting this quote, you, and the entity that you represent (collectively, “Customer”) unconditionally agree to be bound by the terms agreed to in EULA [ID] previously accepted on [insert date]."
@francisaquino not a simple ask to automate I know, but we could update the handbook in the meantime so that if someone has a renewal via a reseller, they can swap in the new wording and not ask for the EULA.
@jhurewitz are you happy with the above wording?
