Monthly themed frontend team calls

We currently do weekly frontend team calls (which is great for collaboration and communicating important information). But a lot of time, the conversations seem very dull/business like.

Considering our values of quirkiness (under our diversity value) and inspired by the marketing team calls (at least based on what I've seen in the past on twitter about their cool hats), I think it would be cool to have a monthly themed frontend call (perhaps first team call of the month)?

Some potential ideas for themes could be:

  • Who can wear the most interesting hat during team call
  • Who can find the most interesting shirt to wear during the team call
  • Who can invite the most random guest to join the team call

The winner of each monthly themed call could have some kind of shoutout at the FGU (which could lead to each teams doing something similar to make our calls more fun 😄 ).

The only potential downside of doing something like this, is that it requires a high amount of participation from the team in order for it to be effective and fun.
