Webcast Planning FY21 Calendar

Purpose

To ideate and plan our webcast calendar for FY21. Ideally, we will have a mix of speakers and address all three stages in the customer journey.

As the content journey maps are generated for each Use Case, we will be able to identify in which stages we have gaps. In regards to webcasts, this will be the basis for our nurtures to fully cover the buyer journey.

For example, if we have several CI webcasts focused on how GitLab is the best solution when compared to the market (i.e. fitting into either Consideration or Decision/Purchase stage), perhaps we want to generate an Awareness stage webcast next and focus less on GitLab and more on what CI is.

Speaker Types

  • Internal GitLab Employees (product marketing, product, engineering, evangelism, partner/alliances, etc.)
  • Customers (typically more consideration/decision stage)
  • Analysts (dependent on budget)
  • Partners (helpful to have motivated customers who are highly engaged and responsive)
  • Industry leaders (potentially dependent on budget)
  • Trade publications (vertical-specific i.e. public sector)
  • Complimentary companies/products (need to first identify how leads would be handled)

Next Steps

  • Attempt to not tap out resources in any given area by spreading the responsibility across multiple teams and enthusiastic speakers

Most critically we need to slot in March and plan out tentatively for the year, aligned to the integrated campaigns planning. @aoetama perhaps we can cover in the same manner as February by repurposing another speaking session. Looking to the future, these will follow along with the integrated campaign calendar.
