Clarification of Crowdin Translation Approval Process
Background
There currently appears to be a misalignment among stakeholders regarding the Crowdin translation approval process. This issue aims to facilitate discussion and clarify our approach going forward.
Current Situation
Initial Agreement
- Argos: Responsible for translation work
- Approvers: Responsible for approval
Current State
- Argos translators are now also performing approvals
- A stakeholder within our organization has been encouraging Argos to approve translations
Issues
Quality Assurance Concerns
- @SNaoko has raised concerns about maintaining translation quality
- Approval responsibility boundaries between approvers and vender are unclear
Process Transparency
- The rationale for changing from the initial agreement is unclear
- The current approval workflow has not been shared among all stakeholders
Next Steps
- Gather comments from all stakeholders
- Document the agreed-upon process and share with stakeholders
- Implement and monitor the new process
