Clarification of Crowdin Translation Approval Process

Background

There currently appears to be a misalignment among stakeholders regarding the Crowdin translation approval process. This issue aims to facilitate discussion and clarify our approach going forward.

Current Situation

Initial Agreement

• Argos: Responsible for translation work
• Approvers: Responsible for approval

Current State

• Argos translators are now also performing approvals
• A stakeholder within our organization has been encouraging Argos to approve translations

Issues

Quality Assurance Concerns

• @SNaoko has raised concerns about maintaining translation quality
• Approval responsibility boundaries between approvers and vender are unclear

Process Transparency

• The rationale for changing from the initial agreement is unclear
• The current approval workflow has not been shared among all stakeholders
