Duo Chat - JA Docs: ensuring context around links and terminology
Context
GitLab's documentation (docs.gitlab.com) is being localized into Japanese. Currently, Duo Chat can respond in different languages, including Japanese, but may not be properly utilizing Japanese documentation links or consistent Japanese terminology when responding to users in Japanese.
Expectations
When users interact with Duo Chat in Japanese, it should:
- Reference Japanese documentation links (docs.gitlab.com/ja-jp) instead of English links
- Use consistent Japanese terminology that matches the one we use in the localized documentation
Questions
- Will Duo Chat automatically provide docs links in JA once Japanese docs are available in production or will this require additional implementation work on the Duo Chat side?
- I understand we don't track input/output data in our product analytics, but do we have any visibility into the languages in which users are using Duo Chat?
Next steps and references
