500 errors for `git-07`

We received a couple of reports in the support forum of git operations failing. I was trying to isolate a particular issue in kibana and noticed that there seems to be a lot of recent 500 errors for git-07. 97.4% of reported 500 errors in kibana for the 'https_git' backend_name type are associated with git-07:
