Readiness Review for external-dns
We are currently leaning on utilizing hostnames heavily when it comes to linking VM and Kubernetes Redis deployments together. If this is the final solution we remain with, we must perform a readiness review of the external-dns
. This was not completed when this project was installed into our clusters, but will now be a dependency for which Redis will operate. This is due to the helm chart relying on DNS for later versions, and our need for Redis to be accessible from outside of our clusters. This is something that while the Helm chart supports, it assumes we can use the headless services which are not addressable outside of the cluster. ExternalDNS bridges this gap by providing a mechansim for us to provide resolvable hostnames to an entire project.
