# Duo - Claude Fable is not working (Severity 3) **Problem**: When users selected Claude Fable in GitLab Agentic Chat on GitLab.com, they received an error and could not access the Fable 5 model. This led to high error rates in duo-workflow-svc. **Impact**: All users attempting to use Claude Fable with GitLab Agentic Chat on GitLab.com received an error and could not access the Fable 5 model. This caused sustained error rates in Duo Agent Platform chat and LLM services. Users could manually select another model as a workaround. After the fix, error rates are coming down and duo-workflow-svc alerts have resolved. **Causes**: Access to the Anthropic Fable 5 model was suspended due to a US government export control directive, making the model unavailable in our deployment. **Response strategy**: We merged and deployed a fix that removed the Fable 5 model from Duo Agent Platform and AI Gateway services.
