2025-10-14: Monthly release candidate pipeline failing on GitLab FOSS
Monthly release candidate pipeline failing on GitLab FOSS (Severity 3 (Medium))
Problem: The 'eslint:fe-island' job in the monthly release candidate pipeline was failing because it tried to access a directory that does not exist in the FOSS repository.
Impact: The monthly release candidate pipeline for GitLab FOSS was failing and could not complete due to this job failure. After the fix, the blocking job is no longer present and the pipeline can now complete successfully. Some non-blocking FE-island jobs remain but do not affect the result.
Causes: A recent merge request changed the pipeline rules, causing the 'eslint:fe-island' job to run in the FOSS repository where the required 'ee/' directory does not exist.
Response strategy: We updated the CI rules to prevent the 'eslint:fe-island' job from running in the FOSS pipeline, backported the fix to the '18-5-stable' branch, and triggered a new pipeline to verify the solution.
