FY26 Infrastructure Platforms Handbook Spring Cleaning

Overview

🧹 It's time to dust off those digital cobwebs! Just like that annual ritual of opening windows, sorting through closets, and rediscovering forgotten corners of your home, our Infra Platforms related handbook pages need their own spring refresh. Over time and multiple reorgs, our handbook pages have accumulated some digital dust bunnies in the form of outdated information, broken links that lead to nowhere, and formatting that's about as consistent as spring weather. Let's roll up our sleeves, don our virtual cleaning gloves, and polish our handbook until it sparkles with accuracy and clarity again!

This issue specifically addresses Infrastructure Platforms Engineering handbook pages. Product is conducting their own spring cleaning initiative (google doc).

Goals

• Consolidate to 1 landing page for Infrastructure Platforms, currently there are 4:

  • https://handbook.gitlab.com/handbook/engineering/infrastructure/platforms/
  • https://handbook.gitlab.com/handbook/engineering/infrastructure-quality/
  • https://handbook.gitlab.com/handbook/engineering/infrastructure-platforms/ (This is the one we should use.)
• Update links to point to correct locations in /handbook/engineering/infrastructure-platforms.
• Review and remove processes that we're no longer using.
• Ensure team pages are in the correct handbook location aligned to org structure.

Plan

This is a best-effort initiative. We'll track the work using child tasks in this issue. Anyone wishing to help out may create or pick up a task.
