Create Design Sync - APAC + AMER/EMEA Alternations
Description
We've been running our Create Design Syncs during late nights for AEDT, which has worked because of @mle's super flexible hours, but with our team growing, and daylight savings time, we should re-evaluate the time we hold our design syncs so they are more inclusive for APAC and AMER/EMEA timezones.
Our design team:
- @alyssatrinh | Seattle, PST
- @mle | Sydney, AEDT
- @munthank | Amsterdam, CET
- @bonnie-tsang | Brisbane, AEST
- @gdoyle | Uxbridge, EST
Proposal
Let's alternate each Design Sync to be APAC-inclusive as well as AMER/EMEA-inclusive. That would look like this:
APAC 00:30 UTC - 1:20 UTC
- 4:30-5:20 PM PST (Alyssa - late afternoon)
- 11:30 AM-12:20 PM AEDT (Michaell - late morning)
- 1:30-2:20 AM CET (Mark - middle of night - skips)
- 10:30-11:20 AM AEST (Bonnie - mid-morning)
- 7:30-8:20 PM EST (Gina - evening)
AMER/EMEA 16:00 UTC - 16:50 UTC
- 8:00-8:50 AM PST (Alyssa - morning)
- 2:00-2:50 AM AEDT (Michael - middle of night - skips)
- 5:00-5:50 PM CET (Mark - end of day)
- 1:00-1:50 AM AEST (Bonnie - middle of night - skips)
- 11:00-11:50 AM EST (Gina - late morning)
How this would apply to our upcoming design syncs
- 2025-11-20: AMER/EMEA
- 2025-12-04: APAC
- 2025-12-18: AMER/EMEA
Considerations to make this work 🕰️
- Fill out the agenda at least 2 days before to give others ample time to leave feedback.
- Record the meetings and share with the team to watch.
