What is a microaggression? Microaggressions are the subtle and overt harmful behaviors we all encounter and, often unknowingly, inflict in our day-to-day interactions — and that, over time, erode a sense of safety, belonging, and our ability to contribute. While microaggressions can affect anyone, they can impact underrecognized groups more acutely.

At GitLab we believe that everyone is entitled to a safe working space where they can express who they are and participate in conversations without worry of being spoken to in a harmful way, given that we want to encourage everyone to be mindful of what is a microaggression and be mindful of their potential impact.
