Fixing git mistakes
Title: A hilarious Git pun that I haven't thought of yet
Summary:
There's a grand total of far-too-many git commands available but most people can get away with learning the key four; commit, add, pull, and push. But what happens when something goes wrong? You commit to the wrong branch, you forgot to add a file to that last commit, or you accidentally added a photo of your cat to a clients repo. We've all been there…
I aim to write a post that picks up on the most common mistakes people make when using Git and how to overcome them. Things like undoing your last commit, changing commit messages, or moving your changes onto a different branch are very common questions on Stack Overflow and are things that I search for myself, a lot. This would be a great follow-on article for people getting started with git, which I can link back to in this post.
I want to make it a light-hearted, fun post that reads more like a story than documentation. We all make mistakes with Git, let's embrace that and help some people out along the way.
