Two part article on GitLab Omnibus - what makes upgrading so great at GitLab and the tradeoffs

Why two parts?

1. "How to upgrade GitLab" - point out the ease of upgrade in many cases. Bring in reactions from users. To raise awareness that this is an emotional issue, and we want to hear what people think. Highlight conversation, twitter comments, etc, and invite questions. By @nearlythere
2. To provide a technical explanation of WHY we do it this way. By @marin - answering any questions that came through the comments and direct people to resources on how they can learn more about using it for their projects (Chef)

GitLab's Omnibus gets a really high emotional response both ways. Mostly people are over the moon delighted with the experience of a smooth upgrade. Some people even refer their favourite projects to "see how gitlab does it." But some users express a deep dislike.

In this two part series we'll look at this mostly joyful, but sometimes controversial solution.
