Topic
Institutional Obsolescence
Description
Through a guided conversation, this workshop aims to explore the ways that traditional institutions change–or refuse to change–in the face of rapidly changing planetary systems. How can we make alternatives to these institutions that scale well enough to provide viable futures?
Hopes & dreams
For attendees to identify ways that considering institutional obsolescence could shape their approach to the design, governance, and interventions for institutions. We hope participants will help create discussions around these core themes that expand our understanding during the session and long after.

Session rundown (tell us a rough outline of your plan)
We’ll begin by briefly introducing the idea of institutional obsolescence and how it might pertain to the decentralized web. We’ll then have a guided discussion that engages participants to consider how they’ve observed aspects of institutional obsolescence in their own experience, as well as how accounting for it might shape their ongoing practice.
