To add a new country to the country map, you must first fork the [incubator-superset](https://github.com/apache/incubator-superset) and the [superset-ui-plugins](https://github.com/apache-superset/superset-ui-plugins) repositories. If you have done so, follow the steps below:
1. First, you have to get the borders of the country and its regions. You can do this by visiting [DIVA-GIS](https://www.diva-gis.org/gdata). Under "Country" select the country you want to add and under "Subject" choose "Administrative areas". Now press "Download", save the zip file and extract the contents. You might notice that it contains several .shp files with different endings.
The file ending in adm0 only contains the borders of the state. The file ending in adm1 contains additionally the borders of the next smaller administrative areas etc. For Switzerland, these areas would be the cantons.

1. Now you will have to convert the shapefile to geojson. The easiest way to accomplish this is by using ogr2ogr. If you have installed it already just type the following command into the command line:\
`ogr2ogr -f geojson <path of the destination file> <path of the source file>`
1. (Optional) Reduce the size of the geojson file by copying it into the [Mapshaper](https://mapshaper.org).
