Different Type of Team Call
With the time zone change, it feels strange to have a "Team Call" when we know that not everyone on the call will be able to attend. So I'd like to propose a completely different format.
At the end of the milestone, after cut-off, each person records a 5 minute video of their milestone. The video is uploaded to GitLab Unfiltered, and a link is placed into the retrospective issue. During that week all of the video's are uploaded, the team watches them at a time that suits them, and people can add comments and discussions in the issue.
I'm suggesting 5 minutes but it's really just a guideline. If there is more you want to talk about, please do so! Some topic ideas are:
- things you worked on this milestone
- problems you found that were interesting or challenging
- issues you raised that you'd like to highlight
- interesting GitLab things that you found during the milestone (other team's issues or TIL items)
- and we could keep the conversation starter from the normal call (that is the question that is non-work related that opened each team call. I would add this to the retrospective document when it's opened)
Keen to hear what you think.
