hydrapaper not working on ubuntu 22.04

I am pretty new to linux so I'm not really sure what exactly has the issue been. The hydrapaper just hasn't worked. When I run hydrapaper terminal shows a critical warning "Gtk-CRITICAL **: 01:53:13.010: gtk_widget_set_parent: assertion '_gtk_widget_get_parent (widget) == NULL' failed",

and when I apply changes in hydrapaper, my wall paper is just spanned across the two displayed instead of changing to the images that I had chosen.
