cleanr's unit tests write a log/ directory in source package during revdep checks

I recently ran revdep checks for usethis and I notice that cleanr causes a log/ directory to be written into usethis's package source, containing the files runit.log and runit.html. I'm not very familiar with runit but this strikes me as unusual -- as in, an unusual location to write to:

Is this a standard path handling approach for working with runit?
