Description:

I tried to load the openurl.diff file (provided in the sample project) in a synedit and then set highlighter to a TSynDiffSyn.
The application choked.

First attaching the highligghter and then opening the file works OK.

Steps to reproduce:

Unzip attached demo
Build and run
Click button that says: Open "openurl.diff"
Click button that says: Attach highighter
Observe the freeze.

Kill the program.
Run it again.
Click button that says: Attach highighter
Click button that says: Open "openurl.diff"
Observe that it works as expected.
Click the button that says: Detach highligter
Click button that says: Attach highighter
Observe the freeze again.

Additional information:

Just ignore all the other buttons on the sample program...
