[Skims] - Mitigate misinformation from external sources and improve user guidance
What is the current behavior?
Currently, Skims is being referenced by external sources. The issue is these sources have outdated documentation, which leads users to our channels asking about things and creating issues without having visited our official documentation first.
Proposals
There are several proposals to mitigate this situation:
-
Reach out to the owners of these external sources and kindly ask them to update their documentation. If necessary, provide them with the resources or the documentation to help them accomplish this. (This was not possible) -
Include warnings in the code to inform the user if there's a problem with the configuration or the version they are using. -
Update our documentation to make it easier for these types of users to meet their needs. For example, we could add a specific page for people who are coming from the AppDefenseAlliance, and provide them a step-by-step guide for the CASA scan.
