"Stations" and "Project Stations" Maps: Add top bar and left hand station listings menu

BACKGROUND

We are looking to evolve our thinking around the portal experience to make the map more prominent, useful and connected to the data (see the Epic overview). As a first step, we want to add left hand station listings to the map.

BRIEF

Add top bar to "Stations" map (we already have this for the "Project Stations" map)

Add left hand station listings menu to:

  • "Stations" map
  • "Project Stations" map

Please note that we do NOT want to implement everything on the designs listed below.

For now, just implement:

  • Top bar for Stations page (we already have this for "Project Stations" map)
  • Station listings menu on left
  • "Open menu" tab
  • Functionality that means that the left hand station listings update based on zooming in and out of the map
  • For now, when a user clicks on a map dot, the current functionality of the pop-up station card appearing on the map will also remain in place

Do NOT implement:

  • Filter (top left)
  • "Add all to collection" button
  • "Explore all data" button
  • Units on map dots

Notes:

  • We only have a design for desktop right now (mobile is coming)
  • Once a draft of this is implemented, then we can determine how we want the existing left hand navigation menu (e.g. Projects, Stations) to work with this new stations listing menu

GENERAL

  • IF I am on the portal
  • WHEN I land on either the Stations map page or a Project Map page
  • THEN I see the left hand stations listings menu open

STATIONS MAP

  • IF I am on the Stations map page
  • WHEN I look at the left hand stations listings menu
  • THEN I see listings for all the stations that I own

Zoom in with "update results" Unchecked

  • IF I am on the Stations map page
  • AND the "Update results based on map view" check box is UNCHECKED
  • WHEN I zoom into the map (causing less dots to be visible)
  • AND I look at the left hand stations listings menu
  • THEN I STILL see listings for all the stations that I own

Zoom in with "update results" Checked

  • IF I am on the Stations map page
  • AND the "Update results based on map view" check box is CHECKED
  • WHEN I zoom into the map (causing less dots to be visible)
  • AND I look at the left hand stations listings menu
  • THEN I ONLY see listings for stations that I own that are located in the visible map area

PROJECT STATIONS MAP

  • IF I am on the Project Stations map page
  • WHEN I look at the left hand stations listings menu
  • THEN I see listings for all the stations that belong to that project
