Use a single dest tag and bodhi release?
On the devel mailing lists, Mattia Verga points out that it's rather confusing that users see a single stream of Flatpaks, but we have separate releases in Bodhi - Fedora 37 Flatpaks, Fedora 38 Flatpaks, ...
We could instead just have a single release "Fedora Flatpaks" that we keep putting stuff into. The "Fedora ELN" release apparently has 80,000+ updates without causing either the Bodhi backend or the web ui to fall over
If we made this change:
- We would need a single dest tag (flatpak-updates-candidate) that all targets (f37-flatpak-candidate, f38-flatpak-candidate) point to. The targets would stay separate for different build tags / package sources.
- We would want to rename the runtime in bodhi and koji to fedora-runtime-f38 or something like that (the dist-git repo could stay the same), so that it was clear that the different runtimes don't overwrite each other in the registry.
Would this make things better? Is it worth creating the difference from how containers are handled?
