Define the remit of Recognition Service in Mindshare
@gwmngilfen and I connected today for a brief meeting where I got his approval on working on the Recognition Service. While @gwmngilfen has worked (and continues to work) on the data side of things and I have worked (and continue to work) on Fedora Badges, according to the Mindshare Refocus ticket #69, this goes further than that in terms of both actions required and impact expected.
> **Recognition Service** - The Mindshare Committee will be responsible for recognising the efforts of our contributors across the project. This will involve working with the projects teams such as QA, Design, Rel-Eng, etc and making a conscious effort to reward the people who are making Fedora the wonderful project it is. The committee should decide if they will review recognition efforts weekly/monthly/per release, but will ultimately be responsible for ensuring that the people who are being recognised are in receipt of some sort of reward - be it swag, a blog post about their efforts, etc. The committee will also be responsible for working with the FCA in developing an SOP or process for identifying recognition efforts and creating or determining a metric or metrics to measure how impactful different contributions are to the project. These metrics should be presented to the Fedora Council on a regular basis to measure the projects growth and identify strategic areas in need of investment so that the council is informed when devising the projects strategy.
Let us discuss specifically about the actions required and the impact expected of the Recognition Service.
