Create mastodon account and plan for running that

Questions:

1. Is there an existing mastodon / fediverse account that we have access to or should get access to?
2. If not, where should we create one? So many servers, so confusing!
3. How do we promote it and get followers?
4. What should we post, when, etc., and how does that fit into our overall social media / microblogging plan?
5. What else?
