Kernel version 6.2.0-0.rc0.20221222git9d2f6060fe4c.11.fc38.x86_64 causing hard lock of system during boot
Booting into kernel installed by package kernel-6.2.0-0.rc0.20221222git9d2f6060fe4c.11.fc38.x86_64
The system hard locks and has to be powered off to get it working. Even the reset button on the system does not release the hang caused during boot. I have to use the power button and hard power off and then power on to get the system booting.
This is happening from the last 2 releases of the 6.2 kernel.
System is on Ryzen Threadripper 2950X on X399 Gigabyte system board. There was mention of an error 61 during boot and it seems to have hung at the stage where the iwl driver is initialized.
I will attach a sosreport here so that you can check where this new kernel is causing the hard lock. Mostly seems to be some bug or some other issue.
I am currently running perfectly on kernel 6.1.0-65.fc38.x86_64 on the same machine and submitting this bug report to you.
Please ask of any more information you need from me here to help debug the problem. I have some sys admin experience and I can give anything that you may ask of me on Linux side to a large extent.
Thanks
